The Ramnagar Fort

As per the Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati on the occasion of Mahashivratri. According to the tradition, the supporters carried the idols of both Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva in a ‘palki’ from the house of former mahant of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. They blow conch, damru and variant musical instruments. The followers walked towards the sanctum of Kashi Vishwanath Temple and offered gulal and rose petals to spiritual deities.
